We were out in Palm Springs for my buddy’s bachelor party and were walking by the Retro Room Lounge when Stephen the Cowboy waved us in. Not our typical bar type, but we thought why not? Not only did we end up having the most fun of the entire 2-day excursion, we all agreed that Stephen made the entire trip for us. Ended up staying for about 4 or 5 hours, and then coming back later to hang out with Stephen again. They say the bartender makes the bar – well Stephen makes the entire weekend. Endless laughs, fun and an overall great time. Will come all the way back to Palm Springs just to visit Stephen again. Recommend to ANYONE, don’t miss this spot. Make sure you go when Stephen’s working because you’ll never forget it!
Love the RetroRoom!!! Cowboy Stephen is by far the friendliest bartender in town. The moment you walk into the bar, he greets you with a HUGE smile, and a big ole “Howdy, Hello”.
Not only is Stephen a very good bartender, serving up generously portioned drinks, but he doubles as your waiter as well. He is not afraid to get out from behind the bar and take your drink orders right at your table.
From what I’ve seen, the RetroRoom is working hard at becoming your new spot for drinks and entertainment in downtown Palm Springs. They’ve been featuring some of the Coachella Valley’s most talented and fun entertainers on Friday and Saturday nights.
So, I suggest you give the RetroRoom a try. I guarantee you’ll leave with a smile on your face.
I’m a huge fan of those bars where its small, intimate and fun environment. I have been a passerby in many cities and I always love those type places that draw you into a intimate fun environment. Retro Room is just such a place. As an artist I have had several marvelous evenings of artistic connection here between audience and performer. I look forward to many more and all fellow performers in this jewel of Palm Springs.
Awesome day to spend your Sunday afternoon. Unwind with some tunes and awesome drinks with Brad! BRAD was amazing and on top of it ; D very respectful and funny. Would totally recommend this place to my friend. Very 80s feel with the disco balls and everything.
I had a wonderful experience Brad the bartender made our day! He was so kind and just a great spirit. We will be back.
Great atmosphere, Steve the bar tender is an absolute riot! Definitely recommend stopping in when in palm springs, it will be an experience to remember!
I called this spot 10 days out for hosting a bachelorette. They told us to come right in and they’d accommodate us.
We showed up on a Friday night and they were so friendly- immediately seated us and grabbed our drink orders. We expressed interest in karaoke and they told us all the directions (either via app or in person).
Kenidy took care of us all night long at the karaoke station- highly impressed with the attentive service and friendliness. She was fantastic!
I would highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants a relaxed good time over a drink or karaoke!
This little lounge was a great neighborhood bar to visit. The drinks are well poured, and they even had jello shots which I love way too much. Shout out to the bartender, Robert, for the strong drinks and yummy jello shots.
I consider this bar to be the “Cheers” of Palm Springs because the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming to all.
They had Karaoke there, and the host, Kendell, made sure everyone had a great time.
She was also fair about whose turn it was to sing.
They have a phone app instead of the big books of songs, which I liked.
Will I return and tell my friends and clients to visit the Retro Room Lounge?
What a hidden gem! The Retro Room has such a welcoming vibe. Not to mention the best peach margaritas! Ask for Cowboy Steve.. he’ll take care of you. If you’re going to do some daytime walking on the strip, be sure to grab a Bloody Mary from Retro Larry. He makes them so good, it’s literally named after him! If you’re looking for a good drink, fun atmosphere, and happy hour… it’s a no brainer!
This is without a doubt the best bar, gay or otherwise, in Palm Springs. The staff, including the owner, is super friendly and fun. The drinks were incredible. The karaoke was great. And the patrons were a blast to interact with.
When I go back to Palm Springs I know exactly where I’ll be spending my nights. I especially loved the retro theme of the bar, it made the “bad” karaoke renditions of Barry Manilow songs that much more kitschy and delightful.
This place is Palm Springs in a nutshell; a nutshell filled with generous amounts of vodka, vermouth, and good times.
